How we build

Three rules, and the reason for them

What the apps do, what they refuse to do, and why a family of four ended up writing them.

How we build

Three rules we don't break

They're the reason the apps look the way they do.

One job, done properly

Each app has a defined job and stops there. No feature crept in because a competitor shipped it. If something doesn't help a tired parent at 3 a.m., it doesn't go in.

Local-first, always

Your records live in private storage on your phone. There is no account to create and no endpoint to send them to — so there's nothing for us to leak, be subpoenaed for, or quietly monetise later.

Cited, never invented

Health guidance comes from AWHONN, the CDC, WHO, the AAP and USDA, and says so on the screen where you read it. Nothing in either app is generated text dressed up as advice.

How we handle data

There is nothing for us to lose

What you record about your children — feeds, sleep, growth, allergies, meals — is written to private storage on your phone and is not sent to us.

This is an architectural choice rather than a promise we ask you to take on faith. Because there's no account on our side and no endpoint to send data to, there is nothing for us to leak, be subpoenaed for, or quietly monetize later. Each app's privacy policy sets out precisely what does and does not leave your device, including the small number of optional lookups the nutrition app makes to public nutrition databases.

No accounts on our servers

Because we don't run any. There is nothing of yours to sign into.

No analytics or trackers

No usage telemetry, no crash SDKs, no advertising identifiers.

No advertising SDKs

No ad networks, no ad identifiers, nothing following you between apps.

No invented facts

Health and nutrition guidance is cited to its source, never generated.

Not medical advice. Our apps provide general information and personal tracking. They do not diagnose, treat, or replace care from your pediatrician, obstetrician, midwife, or another qualified professional.

Our story

Why we built this

We're parents of young children. That's the whole origin story, really.

Somewhere between the pediatrician's office and the kitchen table, we started wondering whether our kids were actually getting what they needed — not just enough food, but the right kinds of it. Iron. Calcium. Fiber. Vitamin D. The things that come up once at a check-up and then quietly disappear in the middle of a Tuesday.

So we went looking for something to help us keep track. We tried what was out there. Some of it was built for adults counting calories. Some of it wanted a subscription before it would show us what we'd already typed in ourselves. None of it seemed made for a family with more than one child — each with their own age, their own appetite, their own list of foods they've decided they hate this month.

We couldn't find the thing we wanted. So we built it.

Our kids nutrition app is that one. BabyChart comes from the same instinct, pointed at an earlier stage — when the question is less about nutrients and more about whether anybody has slept. It's the one that shipped first.

We're still the ones using both of them every day. That's mostly what keeps them honest.
